So you want to be a Battletech Missions gM?

It’s easy! Make sure you’ve read the rules and everyone has a character. Next, start with Campaign 3025 (Memphis). If possible, run the missions in order, but it’s not strictly necessary. (Of course, they’ll make more sense that way)

For each mission, you’ll find four things:

1)       The GM Packet: This includes the briefing, all of the necessary NPC and OPFOR (opposition force) sheets, several copies of the Cert and Debrief for that mission, and the GM report. The GM report lets you list your players, their mechs, and how well they did.

2)      The GM Packet (Duplex): This is just the GM Packet, designed to be printed double-sided. It will make sure that the pages you want single-sided (like ‘mech sheets) are (mostly) blank on the back, as well as all Certs and debriefs are easy to hand out to players.

3)       The Cert/Debrief: This is a single PDF of just the Cert/Debrief. This is useful if you’re running games online and want a simple cert to fill out and email.

4)      The TableTop Simulator (TTS) setup. If you’re running in Tabletop simulator, this includes a TTS save game with everything you need to run except the PC sheets. It’s got the map set up, as well as all of the OPFOR sheets, dice for your players to roll, counters and indicators, etc.

Feedback welcome!

If at all possible, let me know how your games go! I’d love to hear about people running these. Feel  free to email jamez@iwptech.com with the results of your run. My favorite would be if you scanned your GM report at the end and sent it to me. Also, if you find any errors, either typographical or balance, or if any part of a scenario isn’t clear, let me know! But if that’s too much, I’d still appreciate emails like “Yeah, we just did mission 3025-03 and the players got their collective asses handed to them” or “Mission 3026-04 was too much of a cakewalk”, but the more detail the better.

To keep things a little easier for GMs, I’ve added a Missions Change Log here.
